If you are prone to pimples in this area, my best advice would be to skip plucking or waxing your brows. You may want to try shaving the hair instead, so youre not removing the hair from the rootor theres always the option to get laser hair removal for a more permanent solution, advises Lee.

Hair removal methods aside, always make sure to use an antibacterial spot treatment in the area. Ideally, you want something that will keep the area clear of any acne-causing bacteria like benzoyl peroxide, which will help prevent future pimples from ever forming in the first place, says Lee.

Dr. Chwalek agrees on the benzoly peroxide but also recommends salicylic acid or sulfur products particularly if your skin doesnt tolerate bp well. For seborrhea, youll need to see your dermatologist for a topical antifungal or a steroid like a hydrocortisone cream.

OK, now that weve covered the whys and hows, lets discuss some of our go-to products for treating acne between the eyebrows. Note: These are best suited for blackheads, whiteheads, or newly budding spots.

The Skin Glands Make Too Much Sebum

Eyebrow Tutorial!

Sebum is an oily substance that the sebaceous glands under the skin produce. Every pore in the skin has some sebum, along with a hair follicle. The hair follicle brings the sebum to the skins surface.

Sebum is important. It helps transport antioxidants and promotes skin health by carrying dead skin cells, dirt, and other waste out of the pores. Though it doesnt completely rid the skin of dirt and debris. Sebum also protects the skin and hair from water loss.

It may even help regulate immune responses against certain bacteria.

But theres such a thing as too much sebum, and some parts of the skin, like the forehead, nose, and chin, can produce too much of it.

Excess sebum can trap dead skin cells and debris inside the pores, leading to a buildup of bacteria that causes an infection that will eventually trigger the bodys immune response. That can result in oily skin, inflammation, and acne.

If theres excess sebum in the skin around your eyebrows, that can easily result in a pimple.

Infected Eyebrow Hair Follicle

An inflamed and infected hair follicles are the defining features of a medical condition known as folliculitis. Hair follicles become irritated when something damages them. Factors that can damage hair follicles on your eyebrows include shaving, having an inflammatory skin disease like acne, or wearing tight clothes that rub against the skin.

Once an ingrown eyebrow hair is damaged, bacteria, fungi, and viruses can infect it and worsen inflammation. For mild folliculitis, it usually clears up without intervention, and more severe cases require medical assistance. Certain practices can still reduce inflammation and prevent recurrences.

During The Threading Treatment

Its also a good idea to find out from the person threading your face if the thread contains antibacterial properties. Some threads actually have antibacterial properties which can help prevent any further breakouts. The one I currently use is Vanity Threading Thread which has antibacterial treatments infused in the actual thread.

To also prevent further cuts and grazing the other product I was taught that prevented further cuts and grazing was Heat Sterilized Powder. This is a good product that gives your skin an extra layer of protection during threading and works as an antibacterial type of powder that is also used after any hair removal. This product works well with people who have thin skin as it gives an additional barrier to the skin during threading.

Threading is a great way to remove facial hair, threading is very common in many salons. Its a great way to shape and define the eyebrows, the twisting and turning of the thread will trap the hairs in a twist that allows hairs to be removed in small sections of at a time.

Threading is a great way to remove hair from the upper lip area because of the way of removing hair from small areas. Its also a great way to remove small fine hairs that can be difficult to remove with tweezers. Threading is a great way to remove hair from the face without using chemicals, threading is also a great way to remove hair without burning the skin.

Why Do We Breakout Between The Brows

Acne and Health: What Your Body Is Trying To Tell You With ...

According to Dr. Lee, the medical term for that region of the face is the glabellar area and its common for people to break out there because it is part of the T zone, the area that has the highest concentration of sebaceous glands and produces the most sebum If youre not sure where that area is located it covers your skin from yourforehead to nose and chin.

Sebaceous glands empty oil into pores and both of these structures and a hair follicle make up a follicular unit. Acne really only occurs where theres hair follicles this is why acne doesnt occur on non hair-bearing areas like the palms of our hands soles of our feet, lips or inside of our mouths .

Acne And Health: What Your Body Is Trying To Tell You With Pimples

August 23, 2012 by Bun Bun

Recently, due to bad sleeping habits and being under immense stress, I have been experiencing serious acne on my face. I don’t like feeling like my skin defines me, but I just can’t help feeling sad every time I look in the mirror!

Horrible, horrible, angry, red pimples EVERYWHERE!!! Right cheek, left cheek, chin, jawline, and even the forehead which rarely has any pimples. And the skin on the jawline is so dry and flaky! Dry?! What?? Ive never had dry skin in my life before! Before I really got down to understanding skincare, I followed some horrible skincare advice that did major damage to my skin.

Its timely that I recently came across an image showing vaguely how having acne on different parts of your face actually shows the condition of your internal organs. And I decided to do more research on it and put together this post for long-time sufferers of acne and as a reminder for myself to take better care of my health. While we try to find the underlying cause of our acne, there are things we can do in the meantime to soothe our angry skin.

Before we start, have you ever wondered why you always get pimples in the same spot? Ever wondered why acne appears only on certain parts of your face?

its probably time to analyze the underlying problems. Many people believe that acne is product related. Why then is acne not equally dispersed all over the face?

According to PubMed,

Look at the areas highlighted in red .

Face Mapping: What Are Your Spots Telling You And What’s Causing Them

ACNE FACE MAPPING | What Causes Acne?

We’re often left baffled by a sudden outbreak of spots concentrated in one area of the face. Is it hormone-related? Did I miss my five-a-day? The ancient art of face mapping can help you identify the cause of your blemishes by splitting the face into several sections such as forehead, chin and nose and understanding the different ‘zones’.

A Dermalogica Professional Skin Therapist uses Face Mapping to identify skin concerns from breakout activity to lines, pigmentation and dehydration. These zones are then analysed based on insight from Chinese face diagnosis, based on the belief that the skin provides an outside view into the body’s internal health. Below is an insight into what some of your skincare concerns could be telling you about your health.

Each area reflects a different part of your internal health, so what exactly do pimples on certain areas mean? HELLO! takes you behind a facial spot map
