However, there have been numerous research reports that conclude that rural and non-industrialised societies have fewer instances of acne than Western populations.4 A 30-year study conducted on the Inuit population of Northern Canada in the early 1970s showed that there were no cases of acne when the population lived and ate in their traditional way.
