Neutrogena Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Cleanser
The Rapid Clear Treatment Pads are a convenient, innovative addition to any skin care routine, but that doesnt necessarily apply to the rest of the Rapid Clear product line as well. The Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Cleanser is definitely not a product we would recommend because it contains far too much benzoyl peroxide.
As we mentioned previously, after 2.5%, benzoyl peroxide doesnt get any more effective, it only gets more irritating. Neutrogenas Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Cleanser contains a whopping 10% benzoyl peroxide, which we simply cannot recommend. The best way to treat acne, and prevent it from coming back, is to treat your skin as gently as possible, and 10% benzoyl peroxide is not gentle at all. The cleanser includes glycerin and petrolatum, two ingredients that can help protect the skin, but that wont make up for the incredibly harsh levels of benzoyl peroxide present. Plus, to make matters worse, it also contains laureth-4, the pore-clogging ingredient we mentioned earlier. Although it may work for some people, we definitely think there are better products in Neutrogenas acne treatment line.
A Gentle Skin Cleanser
If you have acne prone skin, then Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash 175 ml is your best bet. A product recommended by most dermatologists, this Neutrogena oil free acne wash is soft on skin and harsh on acne-causing bacteria. The face wash contains salicylic acid and other ingredients that effectively fight acne, clean pores from within and keep your skin clean and fresh. It has a special balance of ingredients that prevent the skin from becoming too parched, thereby avoiding the irritation caused due to over-drying. This oil free and residue free face wash is an effective cleanser for keeping acne at bay, without a dry skin.
Cerave Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser
Board-certified dermatologist , MD, said she loves this CeraVe acne foaming face wash because it is made with 4 percent benzoyl peroxide. It is also formulated with hyaluronic acid which helps to draw in moisture while ceramides support the natural skin barrier, according to Garshick. There is also niacinamide in it to help soothe the skin, plus the ingredient can prevent irritation and dryness. It is gentle enough to be used on the face and body, making it a great option for those who also deal with breakouts on their chest or back, she added. Garshick advised those with sensitive skin to cleanse with this acne face wash once a day.

What is Microclear Technology?
Microclear is a technology composed of three ingredients acting in synergy to prepare the skin to receive salicylic acid under good conditions: so that it can act deeply in the pores and release all its efficiency to help get rid of spots.
Salicylic Acid -The Acne-Buster
Salicylic acid works by softening the top layer of the skin , making it easier to remove dead and shedding skin cells. Acne occurs in part when there is a buildup of dead skin cells in the pores. Salicylic acid helps normalize the shedding of the skin cells inside the pores and helps prevent the clogging that, along with oil and bacteria, can produce pimples.
Wet your face and hands with lukewarm water
Pump cleanser into your hands and work into lather.
Massage lather onto skin with a gentle, circular motion, avoiding contact with the delicate eye area
Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry with a soft towel. If you experience dryness or irritation, use less frequently
Neutrogena Rapid Clear Treatment Pads
As someone who has always struggled with keeping up a steady skin care routine, despite constant acne from my teens well into my 20s, I can appreciate the usefulness of the Rapid Clear Treatment Pads. If you have a hard time remembering to wash your face before you get all comfy in bed, you can keep these pads in your nightstand, run one over your face real quick, and go to sleep without leaving your skin completely untreated before bed. Or if youre not exactly an early-riser and dont always have time to wash your face in the morning, you can use a Rapid Clear Treatment Pad on your way out the door.
Its true, washing your face and applying your treatment and moisturizing creams would be better, but some treatment is better than no treatment at all. These pads contain 2% salicylic acid to help exfoliate your skin on the go, but they also contain denatured alcohol and fragrance, which means they may not be well-suited for those with sensitive skin. If you have relatively resilient or oily skin, these pads are a great way to fill in any potential gaps in your skin care routine.

Gets rid of dirt as well as makeup. Not drying at all. Suitable for all skin types from oily to dry. Does not contain any parabens. Has a very convenient, travel-friendly pump that locks and unlocks very easily.
How Can Unsafe Oils Damage Skin
How we use oils changes their effects on us.
As with anything in life, the way you do something is usually how it could harm you. A ladder is only unsafe if you dont have it leaning properly against a wall. Eating tea leaves instead of drinking them will give you very different results. Get the picture? Well, its the same with oils. The way we use oils is crucial in their effect on us. Some are more effective by diffusion, some by application and a rare few by ingestion.
Some oils are unsafe because people dont use them correctly. Synthetic oils and mineral oils are occlusive which means they sit on the skin and seal in moisture. This is great if you have exceedingly dry skin, but detrimental if you have oily skin. When it comes to skincare for acne its more about what to stay away from than whats inside the product.
Unsafe oils are not essential oils. Essential oils are the essence of their root source. This means theyre trickled down and purified so you only get the stuff you want. Conversely, unsafe oils are oils you dont want to be put directly onto your skin. These oils can cause the skin to become irritated or discolored. The kind of reactions you want to avoid when youre already dealing with acne!

When used every day, twice a day, this medicated and beloved oil-free acne wash from Clinique promises to help treat existing breakouts while working to prevent future eruptions as well. It’s a luscious lightweight foaming gel, and it uses salicylic acid to tackle blemishes and blackheads head-on.
If I Could Give It A Zero I Would
This product after one use gave me a severe reaction. I used it in the evening and woke up with my eyes swollen and sore, my skin burning, and red/inflamed and my neck with these raised burn like patches. I was in pain!!!Chemist called it a severe allergic reaction and to report the product. The healing caused painful dry skin and flaking. Ever had your eyelids flake? Do not recommend. This was 2 months ago.
For the life of me, I didnt throw it out. I used it again to clean my makeup brushes, thinking surely that will be ok. Gave them a good rinse out and put them away. I used the brushes and same thing but worse this time, my eyes nearly couldnt open.
This is a seriously dangerous product and I wish I knew how to report this

Philosophy Clear Days Ahead Oil
Unlike some oil-free acne washes, which can be harsh and ultra drying , this clearing cleanser from Philosophy is safe for twice-daily use. It has a peppy, not-too-strong scent of orange and bodes well for even the most stubborn of breakouts thanks to salicylic acid and niacinamide. The skin is left feeling healthy and balanced.
How I Use It
I use it everyday twice. Once in the morning and next when I come back from work in the evening. Just one pump is enough to wash my entire face and neck region. However you can adjust the quantity as per your own requirement. The face wash gives good lather and I am able to take off whatever makeup is remaining on my face. .

The Best Way To Address All Of The Causes Of Acne
Acne is complicated, but it is possible to get clear skin as long as you address all of the contributing factors and avoid using excessively harsh ingredients. Instead of trying to get rid of all of your acne right away using the strongest methods possible, its far more effective to focus on preventing future breakouts through gentle, consistent care.
As you might have already guessed, one cleanser isnt going to be able to free you from acne all by itself, and certainly not this particular cleanser. If you have acne-prone skin, what you really need is a kit of acne-treatment products like a face wash, a toner, and a treatment cream that work together to address all of the various causes of acne.
Our top recommendation for this kind of kit is Exposed Skin Care. They are accredited by the BBB with an A+ rating, and they dont use any ingredients that could give you dermatitis. Instead, they combine the best scientific ingredients with the best natural ingredients to create formulas that actually work. Their products include benzoyl peroxide to kill acne bacteria, salicylic acid to unclog pores, green tea extract to prevent inflammation, and tea tree extract to reduce excessive oil production.
Best of all, they really believe in their product. If your skin hasnt cleared up after a year of using Exposed products, all you have to do is reach out and they will provide you with a full refund.
Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Acne
Peel off masks sound fun, and the Pink Grapefruit Acne-Prone Skin Peel Off Mask from Neutrogena smells amazing, but they arent for everyone. Studies show that peel off masks have the potential to work, but because they adhere to the skin slightly, they are often too harsh for those with sensitive skin. They may result in irritation and inflammation, which in turn may lead to more acne, not less. You may have sensitive skin if your skin is often red or blotchy, or if it tends to react strongly to certain chemicals or new products.
Even if your skin is fairly resistant, the Pink Grapefruit Peel Off Mask still isnt our top recommendation on this list. Sure, it contains great ingredients like glycerin to moisturize the skin, but it also contains several types of alcohol, which are incredibly drying. It includes a little bit of citric acid and glycolic acid to exfoliate the skin, but theyre at the bottom of the ingredients list, meaning there likely isnt enough of them to actually do much exfoliating. Basically, this mask is a way to make skincare fun, but it is unlikely to make a significant difference in your acne.

Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash Review: Does It Really Work
By Dr. Jaggi Rao, MD, FRCPC, Double board-certified dermatologist
One of the most popular products for treating acne is the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash. But just because something is popular, that doesnt automatically mean it works. We wanted to review this widely-used cleanser in order to determine whether it can really help treat acne long-term, or if its just another quick fix letdown.
We investigated its formula, how well it lines up with dermatologist recommendations for acne treatment, why people gave it 1-star reviews on multiple reviewing platforms, and how the company operates overall. This review should help you decide if the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash is the right choice for your skin. But first youll need to know why acne is so hard to treat in the first place.

Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask
The Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask is actually so popular that we wrote a full review for it, which you can read by clicking on the link above. But we still thought we should mention it here, since this is an ultimate guide to Neutrogenas acne products and it is one of the most popular options out there right now.
Basically, the Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask uses blue and red light to fight acne bacteria and reduce oil production, both of which cause acne. Due to its frequency, blue light can be used to kill certain types of bacteria, including p. acnes, the bacteria most commonly associated with acne. Red light, on the other hand, is essentially a very gentle source of heat that reduces the amount of oil released by our oil production glands. When used together, red and blue light can reduce all kinds of acne, from blackheads and whiteheads to cysts, though at-home devices may not be strong enough to effectively treat cystic acne yet.

Find Out How Neutrogena Oil
Know better, choose better.
I thought I would give this fash wash ago i did have mild reaction to the hydro gel moisturiser but i thought il be ok and that neutrogena is a well known product,Well I was wrong after 2 days of using the wash my face went itchy, red, dry and broke out in tidy little pimples I also had horrible burning sensation of feeling hot all over my face for 4 days and couldn’t eat as I was sore around the chin and mouth area. Its has taken my skin 1 week to recover fully as this is the only time I’ve ever had something like this as I’ve tried many skin care brands and no reaction.Unfortunately after experiencing this I will never be purchasing any of the neutrogena products
Purchasedin July 2021.
Ive used this face wash for 4 days. My chin is covered in tiny white pimples and is so dry and red that it hurts to move at all. I feel absolutely hideous and theres nothing I can find online that will fix my face. Nothing soothes the burning and stinging sensation that Im experiencing. Do not buy.

The Truth About Neutrogena As A Company
While writing this review, we found that this particular Neutrogena face wash is not the exception, its the rule. The vast majority of their products do not actually address all of the causes of acne and as a result, they often dont work. This is because the company itself is not invested in helping you get rid of your acne, which is clear once you investigate their business practices.
One of the first things we look for when writing a review for a product is a solid return policy and product guarantee. If a company doesnt put their money where their mouth is, then they clearly dont believe in their own product, which is a huge red flag. This is exactly the case with Neutrogena. If you buy their products on their online store, they offer a 30-day return policy, but if you buy them from one of their many authorized retailers like Amazon or Walmart, the products are only protected by that stores particular return policy. Plus, they dont offer any kind of guarantee that their product will actually work. If it doesnt, or if you get the horrible rash described above, youre out of luck.
Another red flag is the fact that they arent accredited by the Better Businesses Bureau .
The BBB helps resolve disputes between customers and companies, and they provide a rating to help consumers determine whether a business is trustworthy or not. For such a large company to not be accredited is very strange, and signals to us that they may be hiding some shady business practices.
