Thus, washing your face excessively can indeed make acne worse, as does using cleansers or astringents that dry out the skin too much.

    This is kind of true excessive touching and unnecessary touching can be gross. But it also depends on how sensitive the skin on your face is currently. I do agree with a part of this paragraph in that touching your eyes or rubbing your eyes can cause exposure to bacteria which can cause an infection.

    So I wouldnt say gross, but its the same with any part of your body. When you touch your face, youre exposing it to bacteria and it really depends on how strong your immune system is.

You’ll avoid damaging the skin, and the weight of the bandage or the cream will also remind you to keep your hands away from your face. Over-the-counter solutions may also help reduce anything irritating your face in the first place make sure to take an antihistamine if you are experiencing itchy eyes during early spring, Dr. Saltz suggests.

    If you simply must touch your face, pick up a clean tissue only after you’ve washed your hands, Dr. Wassef says. Using a wadded tissue as a barrier between your hand and your face might help you get a pesky itch, smooth out your eyebrows, or wipe away a smudge that you can’t ignore.
