How Do Dermatologist Get Rid Of Acne Scars
Deep scars often require skin surgery and resurfacing. Dermatologists use fillers to safely and effectively plump depressed acne scars. A dermatologist may fill acne scars with collagen, the patients own fat, or another substance. Many fillers give us temporary results, which last between 6 and 18 months.
What Is Acne Scarring
Acne scars can appear due to the damage caused by acne. Acne tends to leave behind texture changes, dark marks, and redness. Depending on the type of scar, it may remain there for several months, or even years.
Acne scars are created when skin tissue is damaged. Doing things like picking at and popping pimples can definitely damage your skin and cause scarring. But even if you’re really careful with your skin, scars can still develop.
Not every acne breakout will lead to an acne scar. It takes deeply penetrated acne to damage the surrounding skin tissue. As the acne clears, the body tries to repair this damage by producing extra collagen. Dr. Kathleen Garvey
Acne scars that cause a dip in the skin are technically permanent textural changes that occur on the skin after having acne. Some may notice a dark mark leftover on skin after acne. The dark spots leftover are considered hyperpigmentation and can improve over time on their own but it may take longer for some people.
First, I will have to say that the typical topical skincare products will likely not improve deep acne scars such as boxcar, rolling, or ice pick scars. The good news is that even the more permanent acne scarring doesn’t have to stay permanent! Textured acne scars have plenty of treatments that can make acne scars go away.

How To Tackle Red Spots Left By Pimples
The red spots are hyperpigmentation that occurs as the skin heals. These spots are often called scars but they often also fade by themselves. You can speed up the healing process with the following tips:
1. Use good, gentle skincare products.Dont use abrasive scrubs or irritating ingredients. Scrubs can damage the skin delaying natural healing, just like products with irritating ingredients.
2. Use a BHA exfoliant daily.Salicylic acid exfoliates the outer layer of the skin but also penetrates down into the pores. This can dissolve the blockages that cause pimples. BHA is an anti-inflammatory, reducing redness. So you can use the same product to reduce the likelihood of developing pimples and speed up the healing process afterwards. Your skin will also look younger and healthier.
3. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or more every day.Protect your skin every day from UV exposure. UV rays slows down the skins ability to heal, causing red spots and blemishes to remain visible for longer.
4. Use products loaded with antioxidants and cell-communicating ingredients. These substances help protect your skin against further damage while repairing it. This reduces the risk of inflammation and your skin will also need less time to recover. Vitamin C is a true gift for red spots after breakouts. Our C25 Super Booster is an innovative spot treatment containing a high concentration of 25% ascorbic acid to visibly improve uneven skin tone, red marks and skin texture.

Acne Scar Treatment No: Ipl Laser
If its good enough for Kendall Jenner, its good enough for us. The reality star admitted that laser treatments did wonders for her skin when she was scrutinised by the public for suffering from acne. IPL lasers are non-invasive and extremely gentle to skin, so its the perfect lunch time treatment.
‘Not just for hair removal, IPL lasers have a fantastic anti-inflammatory role and can take action against the bacteria that cases acne,’ says Dr. Mahto, ‘but they also work well to reduce redness and skin staining. Just be prepared to undergo multiple sessions and maintenance treatments for good results.’
The problem with most lasers are that they work better on paler skin due to pigments, so wont be your best bet for darker skin tones.
How To Get Rid Of Your Acne Scars
Acne is a common skin condition affecting about 80% of those between the ages of 11 and 30 at some point. It can be on your face, chest, back and shoulders. It may seem like the irritation will never go away, but it does. When it goes away, then you can deal with any remaining scars.
Your first line of defense is to consult a dermatologist. They will first focus on getting your acne under control. The fewer breakouts you have, the fewer scars youll get. The good news is that not all acne scars are permanent.
When your doctor turns attention to the scars your acne has left behind, they will typically explore three main treatment options:
1. Laser treatments
Vascular-specific lasers target blood vessels and can help lighten flat or raised scars that are pink or purple and help flatten raised scars. Doctors often use fractional or carbon dioxide ablative lasers to treat acne scars.
Afterward, the skin is swollen and red, and may bleed, for up to five days, says Dr. Kassouf. Also, you may need between three and five treatment sessions.
Laser treatments arent just for acne. Doctors use lasers to treat other types of scarring as well including those from burns, skin cancer and tattoo removal.
2. Chemical peels
Your dermatologist may apply a chemical solution to the skin. This causes it to blister and eventually peel off, creating new, regenerated skin thats usually smoother than the old skin.

How To Get Rid Of Scars Naturally
Scars are typically the result of an injury, such as a small cut, laceration or burn stretch marks from pregnancy or significant weight changes or an incision due to surgery or even acne. Scars can be flat or may protrude, often severely.
They can be difficult to live with, especially if the scar is in an exposed location on the body, such as the face or hands, which is why so many people want to know how to get rid of scars. Here are my eight secrets for natural scar removal.
1. Shea Butter and Coconut Oil
If you have experienced an injury, such as a cut, laceration or burn, keep the area moist and covered while it heals. You can use raw shea butter or coconut oil to keep the wound moist. This may help prevent a scar or keep a scar from getting too large, deep or itchy.
The omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants in both shea butter and coconut oil have been shown to inhibit keloid scar tissue and repair skin. Additionally, because shea butter and coconut oil are very effective at moisturizing the skin, they can be part of a continued regimen to help minimize some scarring. Simply apply shea butter or coconut to the skin two to three times a day. There is no need to wash it off since shea butter and coconut oil are both very beneficial for your skin. However, be careful not to let it get on any silk garments, as it may stain.
2. Silicone Gel Sheeting
3. Pressure Garments
5. Aloe Vera
6. Essential Oils: Tea Tree and Helichrysum
7. Emu Oil
Are You A Good Candidate For Acne Scar Treatment
Most people who have acne scars are good candidates for acne scars treatment. Women and men over the age of 21 who have post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, icepick scars, boxcar scars, rolling scars, and keloid scars are usually good matches for one or more treatments for acne scar reduction and removal.
Candidates for this treatment should have healthy skin with acne that is well-managed. Some treatments for acne scars cannot be effective if you have active acne. If you want to treat your acne scars, then you may first need to have treatment to reduce or control your active acne. Additionally, some treatments may not be ideal for women who are pregnant or nursing.

B Medium Chemical Peel
Chemical peels involve an acidic solution applied to the affected area to dissolve the outermost skin layer and reveal an unscarred and normally pigmented inner skin layer.
With only a single treatment, a medium chemical peel with glycolic acid or TCA can improve rolling or boxcar acne scarring. The expected recovery time for this treatment is about three weeks.
How To Prevent Back Acne
According to Rachel Nazarian, MD, a board-certified dermatologist and assistant clinical professor at Mount Sinai Hospital Department of Dermatology, “Because the back has a high density of sweat and oil glands, and is generally covered with clothing, its prone to heat-trapping, occlusion, and pressure,” Nazarian explains. All of these factors increase the chances of back acne formation and scarring.
- Avoid backpacks: Rubbing and friction can cause a type of acne on the back called acne mechanica.
- Use an acne-medicated body wash: Washing with an acne-specific body cleanser will help to decrease acne pimples and inflammation. Look for ingredients like salicylic acid that break up blocked, clogged pores and decrease back acne inflammation.
- Wear breathable clothing: To avoid trapping sweat and heat, try wearing fabrics such as cotton rather than polyblend fabrics.
- Dont pick: Even though some of our back acne pimples may be within our reach, picking only increases injury to the skin and makes it even more likely scars will form.
- Dont sunbathe: Although it may be tempting to camouflage acne pimples with a tan, this will increase redness and the pigment that acne leaves behind, leaving those scars around longer and preventing them from fading.

Undergo Laser Or Light Therapy
Medical spas and dermatologists offer a slew of laser and light treatments geared specifically at clearing the skin. Though it takes time to see results and multiple treatments are usually needed, infrared lights and blue and red light devices can help heal and clear breakouts. Even better, they can target scars in addition to current and future breakouts. “Your board-certified dermatologist can help you find the right laser for the type of scars you have on your back,” says Nazarian. Red scars, black scars, or bumpy scars are all treated differently.
Other treatments, such as those utilizing LED lights, can work to improve the overall texture of the skin. “LED red light is an anti-inflammatory light that improves circulation and collagen formation, and may improve the appearance of acne scars with continued use,” suggests Nazarian.
Use Of Vitamin C To Treat Acne Scars
Vitamin C is a powerful skin lightener and one of the fastest methods to get rid of acne scars. It repairs the damaged skin by promoting the production of collagen and elastin needed to make new skin.
The easiest method to use vitamin C to clear acne is by adding the vitamin C powder to your cream or lotion, then applying it to the affected region.

How To Test For Post Inflammatory Erythema
Post inflammatory erythema disappears temporarily when pressure is applied to the area. PIH does not. This is known as skin blanching. Heres a visual of what that looks like.
To do this test on yourself, find a clear container like a cup of glass or something similar and press down against the area you might suspect is PIE. If the mark becomes white and disappears, thats a good indication you have PIE and not PIH.
Hyperpigmentation are unaffected by this test. However, using this method isnt always the most accurate and should be used more as a guideline than diagnosis.
