Reduce Androgens By Exercising More
The impact of a regular exercise on our overall hormone and whole body health is extremely powerful.According to a 12-month study carried out by the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, the loss of body fat in conjunction with moderate intensity exercise caused an impressive reduction in androgens, testosterone and free testosterone. This shows that if you struggle with weight alongside acne, then reducing you body weight and increasing muscle mass can go a long way to helping you reduce androgens naturally.
Combining a healthy diet high in healthy fat/protein and free of processed foods, unhealthy carbohydrates and sugars in addition to moderate exercise, 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week should ALWAYS be the starting point towards getting your skin back on the right track.
Exercise plays such a key part in the journey to clear skin and you dont have to become a total gym-bunny to reap the acne banishing rewards! Start with little changes like going for a 30 minute walk after work or grab a skipping rope, put on some tunes and giving yourself a 15 minute workout in your garden. It wont be long before all the small perks, such as enhanced mood, increased confidence, better sleep and reduced stress, will have you glowing in a way you never thought was possible.

Its relatively well studied compared with other natural treatments for acne.
Research indicates that people with acne tend to have lower levels of zinc in their blood than those with clear skin .
Several studies have also shown that taking zinc orally may help reduce acne.
For example, a 2014 review found that zinc is more effective at treating severe and inflammatory acne than treating moderate acne .
The optimal dosage of zinc for acne has not been established, but several older studies have observed a significant reduction in acne using 3045 mg of elemental zinc per day .

In one study, taking omega-3 fatty acid supplements containing both EPA and DHA daily for 10 weeks significantly reduced pimples in all 45 participants .
You can also get omega-3 fatty acids by eating walnuts, chia seeds, ground flaxseeds, salmon, sardines, and anchovies.
However, the plant sources above contain the omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid and little to no EPA or DHA .
Taking a supplement with concentrated omega-3s can help you take in higher amounts of EPA and DHA to better treat pimples. You can find fish oil supplements to buy online.
Taking brewers yeast, zinc, or fish oil orally may help prevent and reduce pimples over time. These supplements may not get rid of pimples quickly, but studies evaluating their long-term use show great promise.
Reduce Androgens By Taking Anti
There are supplements that can help to reduce androgens naturally but its important to remember that you cant cheat a poor diet and stagnant lifestyle and your supplements should always be secondary to healthy food and lifestyle choices.
The way that most these supplements work to reduce androgens is their ability to inhibit the activity of the enzyme 5 alpha-reductase. As I mentioned before, the enzyme 5 alpha-reductase is what converts testosterone into the more potent, acne-causing DHT. By blocking the activity of this enzyme, you can reduce the conversion of testosterone to DHT and reduce your breakouts.

How Stress Affects Hormonal Acne
No matter what type of stress were talking about, they all activate our stress response system aka HPA axis .
Theres a lot that the HPA axis does, but for the sake of simplicity, were going to focus on just one aspect: the adrenals.
When were stressed, the adrenals release anti-inflammatory hormones, such as cortisol.
As cortisol increases a bunch of other processes are triggered. These processes can end up contributing to acne. Below is a brief overview of how that can happen.
1. Excess oil production
During stressful times, the adrenal glands stimulate the sebaceous glands to make more sebum.
This means more oil on your skin. Long term, this can worsen clogged pores, and make each pimple larger and more painful .
2. Gut Dysfunction
Blood flow to the gut is reducedwhen theres a lot of stress.
Since blood carries nutrients, this means that chronic stress leads to chronically reduced blood flow to the gut.
And with less nutrients going to the gut, inflammatory conditions like leaky gut and gut dysbiosis develop.
This is majorly important for acne because some studies show that people who struggle with acne have less diverse gut bacteria than people who dont .
3. Hormonal imbalances
When were stressed, we need more glucose in the blood as a source of energy.
And interestingly, as cortisol increases, it prevents insulin from doing its job .
This increase in androgens triggers inflammation which leads to increased sebum production, clogged pores, added stress and so on.
